Why should I choose a Catholic education?

A Catholic education is important. It represents a philosophy of self-worth, respect for others, and a sense of community. Values are a fundamental part of ACS life and are included in all educational activities. Catholic values are a planned part of the ACS curriculum. We provide roots for children to grow and a basis for them to formulate their life roles.

Can my child enroll if we are not Catholic?

Yes! Assumption Catholic Schools welcomes all students. Every student, regardless of religious denomination, is required to participate in religion class as part of the ACS curriculum and all students attend our weekly masses/prayer services and are asked to participate to the extent that they are comfortable.

What is your admission process?

Assumption Catholic Schools, mindful of its mission to be a witness to the love of Christ for all, welcomes students of any religion, race, or ethnic origin. Two very important factors in acceptance to Assumption Catholic Schools are the families’ commitment to education and its support of the ACS mission. What differentiates you from other area independent schools?

The roots of Catholic education in the area date back to 1885. The Assumption Catholic School System has been awarded the NCA CASI Accreditation with the North Central Association, AdvancEd Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, for demonstrating its continuing commitment to quality assurance and success for all students. We have a proud history of academic excellence, opportunities in arts, strong athletics, service, leadership, and comittment to our community at large. Our students' test scores consistently exceed those of the local schools as well as state and national averages, and 95% of our graduates enroll in post secondary institutions, including some of the top universities in the country.

Is your campus safe for my children?

Yes, Assumption Catholic Schools has an emergency plan in place that has been developed in cooperation with local police and fire departments. Regular drills and discussion of goals and processes keep school members alert and ready. We have a "Zero Tolerance Policy" for bullying, drugs and/or alcohol, allowing for the safety of all.

How can parents get involved?

There are numerous volunteer opportunities no matter what your availability. We welcome parent involvement, indeed thrive primarily due to parental support. See Volunteer Opportunities for additional information.

Will my child feel welcome as a new student?

Student ambassadors are assigned to all new students entering grades 1-12 to help with the transition to a new school. Students and faculty are welcoming and look forward to working with new students in the classrooms.

How can I afford a private Catholic education?

Assumption Catholic Schools’ financial aid program is designed to help the school enroll talented, bright, socially and economically diverse students who might otherwise not be able to attend ACS. See Tuition and Financial Aid for additional information.

Is there transportation available to the schools?

Bussing is available for Assumption Catholic School students through the bussing services of Safeway and Lamers. Students who satisfy the distance requirements of the state are provided free bussing to ACS schools.
